OUR PASTOR/FOUNDER

Dr. Sonya Adams Hicks was licensed as a minister in May 1998 and ordained as a pastor and prophet by the late Bishop Herman E. Bibbs, with further ordination by Bishop Mack Eastman. She was a member of Repairers of the Breach Ministry in Birmingham, Alabama, for over 20 years and holds a Doctorate in Education from Samford University. A dedicated educator, Dr. Hicks is the founder and pastor of Ruach Prayer and Outreach Ministry, Inc. (RPOM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on education, feeding the community, and promoting faith-based principles.

RPOM hosts monthly prayer luncheons, seminars on budgeting, home buying, healthy living, and grief support, as well as events like praise dances, coat drives, and homeless outreach. The ministry has distributed over 8,000 bag lunches, sponsors back-to-school prayer rallies, and provides Thanksgiving boxes. In May 2020, RPOM expanded to a physical location, offering in-person and virtual services. The ministry also launched a Saturday Tutoring Center. Pastor Sonya is deeply passionate about strengthening others in their faith and remains a servant of God in all roles—mother, daughter, mentor, and friend.

OUR NON-PROFIT

Ruach Min., Inc. is a non profit organization dedicated to educating, feeding and promoting faith based principles. We are a multifaceted ministry due to the different needs of society. On staff, we have mastered leveled teachers and chefs', nurses and other individuals that are concerned about people's wellbeing in their various roles within society.

We have partnered with the homeless shelters, drug recovery facilities , disabled veterans and have been instrumental in providing scholarships for first year students. We also do financial training workshops, health fairs and home buying seminars to assist with leading successful lives.
